The club is an interest group for students and employees at UMB who have a common interest in photography. UMB photoclub has been running for a long time, since long before UMB took its new name and after a slow period around 2005 we are now increasing in numbers steadily. We have members varying from absolute beginner to advanced enthusiasts, and all kinds of equipment. The goal of our group is to increase the knowledge and capabilities of each and every member.
Where do we meet?
The club has a studio at “samfunnet” and a darkroom at “Pentagon”. The darkroom is equipped with most of what is needed for printing and copying of images, while the studio has flash, backgrounds, and whatever it takes to make good studio pictures.
Why join a photoclub?
As a member of a club is easier to get into larger projects and field trips, and to learn from other enthusiasts. Those who doesn’t have any or very little previous experience often have the steepest learning curve, but even advanced photographers have great benefit from sharing experiences with others, and to take advantage of other people’s inspiration and torque.
Our Models
The Photo Club has some volunteer models, who are eager to help with our projects and meetings. The models can provide valuable feedback to the photographer about how our instructions and sets work for them. And of course you can get to some playful shots 
How to become a member?
If you would like to become a member of the club, all you need to do is to fill out the form which you can find by clicking “Bli medlem” or click here . Write down your name, contact information (cellnumber, email), if you are a student/employee/not connected to UMB, if you are an analog or digital user, a little about yourself and what you like to shoot.
You will then be sent an email with information about where to pay the membership fee. Membership in the club costs 100 NOK per. semester. In addition, membership in the society costs 250 NOK (available at “Samfunnet”).
How to become a model?
Are you comfortable in front of a camera, or do you want some cool new pictures of yourself? Being a model for us is non-binding, and you decide what you would like to participate in.
